Genetic Kung Fu
This series explores the intersection of science, culture, and human resilience, inspired by the Gene Culture exhibition at the MIT Museum and the groundbreaking efforts of scientists during the COVID pandemic. Influenced by a lifelong admiration for Kung Fu and the legends of martial arts, these paintings draw parallels between the discipline of fighters and the determination of scientists battling the virus. A Kung Fu figure, wielding genetic technology as a weapon, confronts virus, symbolizing the fusion of tradition and innovation. By integrating scientific inquiry, cultural heritage, and contemporary events, this work expresses perseverance, adaptation, and hope for the future.
